FAQs

What is the easiest way to get there?  Walk or ride your bike onto the ferry.  During the summer than can be multiple hour waits to load cars onto the ferries both arriving and leaving the island.  By walking or biking on, you have no wait  and it is less expensive.

Can I bring my pet?  Please don’t.  We have our hostel dogs and have found that other pets can be extremely disruptive to other guests.  Please don’t try to sneak your pet in.

Do you provide linens?  Yes sheets bedding and towels are provided

Do you have a kitchen?  Yes, it is available for guests.  Please be respectful and clean up after yourself, as our mothers didn’t accept our job offer.

Are my bags safe?  Yes, but we have a safe for passports and personal items.  There is very little crime on the island, but we are not responsible if something is stolen.  We can store your bag if you’d like, just ask.

Does it cost to use the hot tub and sauna?  No, it is included with your room charge.  It is mandatory to shower before using the hot tub!!

Can you help arrange activities?  Absolutely, most of the tour operators are friends of ours, we’ll just give them a call and help you out.

Is hitchhiking really safe?  Yes, locals use it as a transportation alternative, and there are specific spots on the county roads where people will pick you up.  Still, always use your head.  If it doesn’t seem comfortable, than it might not be.

Do you provide breakfast?  No, our rates are the lowest in all of the San Juans, but please feel free to use the kitchen or walk into town and go to one of the coffee shops or bakeries, and have your breakfast sitting by the ocean.

Do you have parking?  Yes, but it is limited.  We highly recommend walking or biking on to the ferry, it is less expensive and you don’t have to wait.  Our parking is on a first come, first serve basis, and is not reserved. We’ll help you out however you show up.

Do you have covered space for bikes?  Yes we do.  We built a new structure just for bikers. There we have tools for repairs, racks to lock your bike, all protected from the weather.

What are your front desk hours?  Well, we don’t have a desk, so just call us at 360-317-8693, and we’ll pick up.  Check in is at 3 pm, check out is at 11 am, but we’ll hold your bags if needed.
